Xbox Cloud Gaming on Steam Deck - Guide

How can you use Xbox Cloud Gaming on the Steam Deck? We'll explain it to you in a simple guide.

Contrary to Microsoft's claim, you don't need an Edge browser to use Xbox Cloud Gaming on the Steam Deck. Google Chrome is sufficient for this.

Step 1: Make sure Google Chrome is installed on your Steam Deck. You can find Chrome in the Non-Steam menu in the Steam Library. Alternatively, you can also find Chrome in the Discover App on the Steam Deck.

Step 2: Enter the following command on the Steam Deck in desktop mode without the quotation marks: "flatpak --user override --filesystem=/run/udev:ro com.google.Chrome" This command activates the gamepad for Chrome.

Step 3: Start Chrome and go to the website www.xbox.com/play and log in.

Step 4: If you want Chrome to automatically start Xbox Cloud Gaming without the address bar, add this to the end of the start options. To do this, go to the Steam Library in Chrome and open the properties. As before, you must enter this without the quotation marks: "--window-size=1024,640 --force-device-scale-factor=1.25 --device-scale-factor=1.25 --kiosk "https://xbox.com/play""

Step 5: For a better gaming experience, click on Chrome in Gaming Mode on the Steam Deck and set it to Gamepad with Mouse Trackpad from Steam Input.

Step 6: Start Chrome and play your favorite games with your Xbox Game Pass.
