Roadwarden is an interactive fiction in which the player explores and changes a hostile, grim realm. It combines complex dialogues and simplified graphics from visual novels with an open story structure and the mechanics of RPGs. Roadwarden includes mechanics such as item interaction, character skills, hit point reduction, simple survival mechanics and time limits. Especially noticeable is the setting system. Whenever the player encounters new characters, he can choose one of the five attitudes (friendly / playful / distant / intimidating / vulnerable), which will affect the subsequent interaction, change the mood and direction of the general conversation.
