In 2015, the action RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt by the Polish studio CD Projekt RED debuted on consoles and PC. The successful title continues the adventures of the monster hunter Geralt von Riva, who already inspired players in The Witcher (2007) and The Witcher: Assassins of Kings (2011). The game world is inspired by Andzej Sapkowski's series of novels about the witcher of the same name.

When Geralt's daughter Ciri disappears without a trace, the monster hunter sets out on a search, and Geralt meets old familiar faces such as his mentor Vesemir and his lover Yennefer von Vengerberg. In addition to the complex story quests, players can also hunt for monsters in the shape of Geralt - and thus acquire additional coins and items. The monster hunter can be levelled up in the style of a classic role playing game and specialized in his abilities. A loyal companion of the sorcerer is the horse Plötze, with which you can maneuver Geralt through the huge open world of the northern kingdoms.
