The Age of Empires IV Season Five Public Update Preview (PUP) is coming
From May 4th to May 15th, all owners of Age of Empires IV on Steam can try out the exciting content, updates, and changes of the fifth season! The Public Update Preview (PUP) gives you the opportunity to get to know new features before major updates and provide valuable feedback. Look forward to new game modes, team voice chat, trade updates, and much more!
New content and features in the PUP
The PUP of the fifth season includes some interesting novelties:
- Empire Wars: A new, fast game mode where you start with a rising empire and immediately dive into the action
- Three new maps: Golden Heights, Migration, and Volcanic Island, which you can test in advance
- Team voice chat & speech-to-text function: Communicate more easily and effectively with your teammates
- Trade updates: Based on community feedback
- Unique options for each civilization: New technologies and units provide individual character for each civilization
- Mod support & bug fixes: Improved lobby functionality and many balance changes
In addition, this PUP offers numerous graphic optimizations, visual improvements, and performance-related updates. Don't forget to report any issues or crashes in the Steam forums.
Map Monsters return in Season 5!
Even though the PUP doesn't showcase all seasonal content and events, we want to give you a taste of what to expect in the fifth season. The Map Monsters are returning and expanding on a concept that was already explored in the second season of Age of Empires IV. The events promise fun and mystique as you search land and water for these rare creatures.
