On April 4th, the Anniversary Update, the last major free update for Anno 1800 on PC, will be released. Ubisoft Blue Byte developers have integrated two larger new features as well as many bug fixes and quality of life improvements.
Creative Freedom in Creative Mode
One of the new features is the Creative Mode, a separate game mode for the "Beauty Builder Community" that wants to build their dream cities without any restrictions. Players can place buildings without needing resources or citizens. The perfect opportunity to design and try out new building projects.
Save and Share Layouts Easily
The second new feature is the so-called "Stamp Feature". Players can save their city layouts and use them again later or even share them with other players. The saved layouts can also be organized outside the game in the Windows File Explorer.
Improvements to Quality of Life
The update also offers many improvements to quality of life, such as upgrading/downgrading roads, fully colored mini-map islands, the ability to search for specific goods in warehouses and expedition preparation menus, an overhauled calculation of the happiness of citizens, and smaller improvements for the modding community.
Player Feedback in Focus
The update was developed based on feedback from players and tested in a playtest. This allowed developers to fix bugs and identify areas where new features need to be better explained. More information about the "Anniversary Update" will be released at the end of March.
