Anno 1800: Land of the Lions
Land of the Lions is an expansion of the same-named main game. Anno 1800 was released for PC in April 2019. Like the main game, the DLC is developed by German developer Blue Byte. The Mainz-based studio delivers Land of the Lions with the crowning conclusion of a whole series of expansions, this year's Season 2. Anno 1800: Land of the Lions is scheduled to be released this fall.
The construction strategy game takes you this time to the new region of Enbesa, which is strongly reminiscent of Africa. In addition to other features such as an irrigation system and new buildings, you can also expect a fresh story about the controversial emperor named Ketema.
Current information on Anno 1800: Land of the Lions
Land of the Lions is part of the second season pass of Anno 1800. This started on March 24th and includes the two DLCs "Palaces of Power" and "Rich Harvest". The game is still in a very early development phase, so the exact release date has not been officially announced yet.
Ubisoft is currently looking for voluntary testers for Land of the Lions to investigate in a small group where the game still offers potential for improvement. The testers will have access to a private forum where they can exchange ideas with the developers about possible bugs. Invitations for the Technical Test were sent out last weekend. Those who have registered for the test phase have a chance to be invited.
So far, Blue Byte has been very quiet about the new features of the DLC. However, the developer has already given some few information. The new irrigation system mentioned above is said to play a central role in the expansion. Whether the story is really based on a true event, as assumed, is still unclear.
The target group of Anno 1800: Land of the Lions
Land of the Lions is aimed at all fans of the Anno series who found great pleasure in the main game and now want to extend and improve their gaming experience with the new content. But even newcomers to the series who have just started with Anno 1800 or are only planning to do so can benefit from buying the expansion. Since the new DLC is the largest and most important expansion of Season 2 so far, no lover of Anno will be able to get around Land of the Lions.
Other popular games by the developer
If you can't get enough of Anno 1800, Blue Byte also offers you further parts of the brilliant Anno series. In 2011, in collaboration with the developer Related Designs, the award-winning Anno 2070 was created. Anno Online, a mobile version of the game, also comes from the Mainz development team.
The studio, which was acquired by the French publisher Ubisoft in 2001, also developed the well-known "The Settlers" construction strategy games. Lovers of the Anno series have long been fond of these games because of their similar gameplay.
