Armored Core 6 - FromSoftware's Mecha Revival

Armored Core 6: A Return to Mecha Roots

FromSoftware, the developer behind the successful Souls series and Elden Ring, is bringing back the long-running mecha series Armored Core. After focusing on the Souls games for years, the team is now venturing back into the world of mech robots. Originally, Armored Core 6 was supposed to be more similar to Elden Ring and designed as an open-world game. However, the team ultimately decided against it and instead focuses on individual missions with custom-built mechas.

The first glimpses of Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon already show some interesting innovations and developments compared to previous installments in the series. FromSoftware has emphasized that while the game benefits from experiences gained from developing Souls-like games, it offers a fundamentally different gaming experience.

The Differences between Elden Ring and Souls Games

Although Armored Core 6 was originally intended to be more similar to Elden Ring, the developers have decided to focus on individual missions and the assembly of mechas instead of exploration. Therefore, the open world of Elden Ring or the dark fantasy landscapes of the Souls series will not be found in Armored Core 6.

FromSoftware has also made it clear that Armored Core 6 only shares similarities with Sekiro when it comes to Souls-like games. Both titles emphasize aggressive combat styles and speed, which represents a departure from the more defensive approach in games like Dark Souls.

New Graphics and Reviews Give Clues about the Game

The key graphics and reviews released so far for Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon give us a first impression of what to expect in FromSoftware's latest mech game. The design of the mechas seems to be more modern and detailed than in previous installments of the series, and the environments also appear to be intricately designed. Fans of the series can look forward to a visually appealing gaming experience.

When Can We Play Armored Core 6?

An exact release date for Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon has not yet been announced. However, since FromSoftware has already released some information and graphics about the game, it shouldn't be too long before we can get back into the mech cockpit.
