Ubisoft Montreal delivered Assassin's Creed Valhalla in 2020, a continuation of the popular virtual assassin series that plunged into the world of the Vikings. The large expansion Assassin's Creed Valhalla - The Signs of Ragnaröks is to provide new narrative content for fans of the game in 2022.
The plot of the third Valhalla DLC
In the first week of sales alone, Assassin's Creed Valhalla surpassed the sales figures of other titles in the Assassin's Creed series over the comparable period. Thanks to this record, new content is still being delivered regularly for the open-world action-adventure. Because for the third time in 2022 with The Signs of Ragnaröks an expansion for Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be released. Previously, the add-ons Wrath of the Druids, which explores historical Ireland, and Siege of Paris, which delivers a new area in the famous world city, were released. In comparison, The Signs of Ragnaröks is to be the largest DLC to date for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. With about 35 hours of play, the expansion will deliver much more content than the two previous DLCs.
Within the expansion The Signs of Ragnaröks, Eivor takes on the role of Odin to free his son Baldr. The expansion, consisting of mythical and fantastic elements, leads to Svartalfheim, the kingdom of the dwarves. There Odin's son is held captive by the fire giant Surt, which is why Odin / Eivor starts a liberation action. This completely immerses the DLC in the mythological facets of Assassin's Creed Valhalla - and is dedicated to Nordic mythology.
Features - What does the content of The Signs of Ragnaröks deliver?
Also known as Dawn of Ragnarok in English, the third DLC with Svartalfheim provides a completely new area that should offer additional content for dozens of hours. Eivor not only has to face powerful frost giants, but also other types of opponents from the world of mythology are waiting in the legendary world - including fire giants like Surt. Also in the world the dangerous Muspel appear, which have powerful fire powers.
In order to be able to face these opponents efficiently, Eivor receives new godlike powers as Odin. So Odin can not only absorb enemy energy, but also transform into a raven that can silently bring down opponents. This new transformation brings an extended stealth element into the gameplay of Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
Highlight of the new addon, which is planned for the year 2022, is however the new game world of Svartalfheim. In the midst of a realm of mountains and caves live the mythical dwarves, who pursue their lives in old forge shops and prominent elevations. Svartalfheim offers players new exploration opportunities - a map from Nordic mythology that adds new geographical facets to Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Images of the third addon also suggest that there could be new weapons and armor. But no specific information about this detail has been provided by Ubisoft yet. How entertaining and extensive the new content of the third DLC is compared to the previous expansions will be proven by the release in spring 2022. Then the players can slip into the role of Eivor as Odin again - this time in Svartalfheim.
