Assassin's Creed Mirage has now been officially unveiled by Ubisoft. As was already known in advance, Ubisoft presented the latest title in the Assassin's Creed series as part of Ubisoft Forward. The almost 4-minute cinematic trailer was extremely well received by fans of the series.
Assassin's Creed Mirage will take place in old Baghdad and will contain significantly more stealth elements than the last titles. This returns Ubisoft to the roots of the series and tries to re-inspire many fans of the early days. The already well-known Basim will serve as the main character of the game. Assassin's Creed Mirage
What we know about Basim
As already mentioned, Basim is not a new face in Assassin's Creed. He made his first appearance in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. His full name is Basim Ibn Ishaq and he is the son of an architect from old Baghdad. However, he lost his parents at a young age and grew up as an orphan in the streets of the city.
After some time, he joined the Hidden Ones and became a Master Assassin. Of these, he was appointed leader of the Hidden Ones bureau in Constantinople, where he took Hytham as his apprentice and traveled with him to England to the Vikings.
Basim is the reincarnation of Isu Loki and, unlike other reincarnations, has access to Loki's memories. So he can remember the events around the destruction of the first civilization.
On the new page for Assassin's Creed Mirage, the following is stated about Basim: "Originally born in Samarra, Basim lost his mother at a young age and grew up alone in the streets of Baghdad. Basim admires the Hidden Ones and dreams of joining them."
We assume that Mirage tells the story of Basim and that we see not only his youth but also his beginnings with the Hidden Ones.
Assassin's Creed Mirage will be released in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
