The future of Assassin's Creed Nexus seems to be already secure, as Ubisoft has already held internal talks about a sequel. As part of Ubisoft's VR project, Nexus is set to be released in September 2023 and is one of 11 games set to be released in the upcoming fiscal year.
Oculus Exclusivity Ended
Originally planned as an Oculus exclusive, the deal with Oculus was ended due to ongoing budget cuts at Meta. Ubisoft can now release the game on any VR platform, but will likely not do so as the end of the deal came deep into the development cycle.
Explore the Past of Known Characters
In Nexus, players will have the opportunity to play as known characters from the series' past such as Ezio, Kassandra, Connor and Haytham. What Nexus 2 will include is unknown, but it could be expected that more characters from the past will be introduced in the VR format.
Reveal This Summer
Nexus will be revealed later this summer in June.
