The community's desire for a New Game Plus mode for Assassin's Creed Valhalla could have been fulfilled after the release of the DLC "The last chapter". But now there is the disappointing rejection. New Game Plus is a mode that allows players to start a new game, keeping the progress made so far, including weapons and skills.
While the other AC games (Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey) have a New Game Plus, the last part of the series will not receive one. This was confirmed by Ubisoft in their blog.
The reason given is as follows: Due to the unique structure of AC Valhalla, which already allows to deal with the world and its figures in various ways, the implementation of New Game Plus could only work to a limited extent.
This would no longer make this implementation worthwhile. Ubisoft does give us a little consolation, however: The Rogue-lite mode "The forgotten saga" as well as new content before the end of AC Valhalla should keep us entertained.
In addition, the free DLC "The last chapter" and a hood update can be found in the aforementioned blog post. The last title update with the version number 1.6.2 will be released on 6 December 2022 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC.
