Astro Colony celebrates its first major update
Greetings, Astro colonists! The first major update "Architecture & Design" is finally here and can be downloaded on Steam. To celebrate this occasion, there is a discount on Astro Colony for a week. But what exactly does this update bring? We have compiled all the important information for you.
New architecture elements and more
The update offers many new architecture blocks and 3D models that allow you to design space stations of various types and shapes. Round shapes like tunnels are no longer a problem. In addition, there are a variety of walls and floors in different shapes to choose from. Some even combine two themes, making it finally possible to bring together different aesthetics. Additionally, you will find a section with large sides and unique appearance.
Blueprint Designer
With the new Blueprint Designer, you can use powerful tools to experiment and design different station layouts. Then, place them in your world and try them out. Here's an overview of the possibilities:
- Automation - invent efficient setups for catchers, smelters, conveyors, etc.
- Design and decoration - create blocks, walls, and devices with various attachments
- Complex architectural structures for colony building
Attachments & Decals
In addition to the previously mentioned systems, there are also new decorations that can be attached directly to any surface (device, block, floor, wall, etc.) and are considered part of it. Each attachment rotates or removes with the device. Attachments and decals do not follow a grid, so they can be placed anywhere.
Selection Tool
The update also brings a new method for selecting grid objects in 3D space: the selection tool. This creates a volume that can be easily controlled with arrows or by directly specifying the dimensions. It can also filter element types (e.g. wall, floor, block).
