Avatar - Ubisoft's Open World game as canon

The world-famous film by James Cameron provides inspiration for two big games. Now it is known how these fit into the established canon.

James Cameron created something big with Avatar - and even bigger: a total of five films are still to come. In the meantime, the Na'vi are also conquering the world of video games. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is being developed by Ubisoft Massive and is based on an open world. The game is scheduled to be released for PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S between April 2023 and March 2024. Avatar: Reckoning will be an MMO shooter developed for Android and iOS - currently there is no information for the planned release.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Avatar: Reckoning are officially part of the canon of the films. This is confirmed by producer Landau in an interview with Polygon. But at the same time, the developers should be allowed to tell a completely own and independent story from the films. How this will be implemented in the end remains to be seen. But we'll keep you up to date here.
