The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced the nominations for the 19th annual BAFTA Games Awards, whose winners will be announced on March 30th. In total, 45 games have been recognised in various categories, including many debuts and from developers who have not been previously nominated.

Notable nominees include God of War Ragnarok and Stray, leading the list with 11 and 9 nominations respectively. The coveted award for ‘Best Game’ will go to either God of War Ragnarok, Cult of the Lamb, Marvel Snap, Elden Ring, Stray or Vampire Survivors.

Environmental Themes in the ‘Game Beyond Entertainment’ Category

Some of the nominees in the ‘Game Beyond Entertainment’ category have an environmental theme, such as Endling and Gibbon: Beyond the Trees. The public will vote for the ‘Game of the Year’ award, while other awards will be judged by panels made up of industry veterans and BAFTA members.

The awards ceremony will take place on March 30th at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and will be streamed online via Twitch.
