A Shocking New Ending in Baldur's Gate 3
In the latest patch of Baldur's Gate 3, a new epilogue has been added, but there is one character whose ending, depending on your choices, is anything but happy.
The new epilogue of Baldur's Gate 3 has been well received by the game's fans. It allows them to reconnect with the characters a few months after the story's conclusion. However, if you play as Dark Urge, you might experience a dark new ending.
The Dark Path of Dark Urge
A new round of content awaits you in the latest patch for Baldur's Gate 3. With a new epilogue party and a new difficulty level, the gameplay experience has once again been expanded. But beware, if you play as Dark Urge and give in to your murderous tendencies, a truly terrifying new ending awaits you.
The Tragedy of Dark Urge
Dark Urge is an origin character with a dark secret: she has the urge to cause serious harm. Sometimes as a player, you have a choice, sometimes you don't. There is a moment where someone you have befriended visits your camp and you must murder them in their sleep. With the new patch, there is now another tragic outcome for your character.
The epilogue party takes place, but not for you. A non-interactive cutscene shows your character lurking outside the camp. A remnant of their former self brings them back to their former friends. But instead of embracing them, they wait... and wait... until everyone is asleep. Then they sneak into the camp with their knife to bring death.
The Brilliant Narration by Amelia Tyler
The scene ends here and is made even worse by the brilliant narration by Amelia Tyler. Does Dark Urge kill Karlach and the company? Or do her companions kill her before she can kill again? Both outcomes are equally tragic.
There are many happier moments in Baldur's Gate 3, but it is a testament to developer Larian Studios that they have gone this far.
