The Surprise of the Year: Baldur's Gate 3
"Baldur's Gate 3" has done it! The game has been nominated for the prestigious "Game of the Year" award at the Game Awards 2023. Who would have thought? A game that takes us into the heart of the fantasy world of Dungeons & Dragons is holding its own against the giants of the industry. And that's not all. Surprisingly, Bethesda's interstellar entry, Starfield, is missing from the list of nominees. As is Blizzard's "Diablo IV". What a year!
In my opinion, "Baldur's Gate 3" is not only one of the best PC games of all time, but so much more. Larian Studios has managed to present us with the virtual Dungeons & Dragons that has been sorely missed in the gaming world.
Nominated Games at the Game Awards 2023
The Game Awards are the annual highlight of the gaming industry. They honor the best achievements and innovations in the world of video games and award them the title of "Game of the Year". This year, "Baldur's Gate 3" has made it onto the list of nominees. Here are all the candidates:
- Alan Wake 2
- Baldur's Gate 3
- Marvel's Spider-Man 2
- Resident Evil 4
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Is your favorite among them? If not, don't worry, the Game Awards have many other categories where your favorite game could shine.
Baldur's Gate 3 - A Deserving Contender?
Baldur's Gate 3 is a masterpiece, and I'm definitely rooting for the game to win. But what makes it so special? It's the seamless fusion of classic RPG gameplay with modern graphics and mechanics that keeps us captivated. And who knows, maybe there will soon be another reason to rejoice and get your own Baldur's Gate 3 Steam Key.
But let's take a look at the competition. With games like "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" and "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom," Baldur's Gate 3 faces a tough challenge. But as gamers, we can only win because this selection once again shows how diverse and exciting the world of video games is.
The Missing Favorites - Starfield and Diablo IV
Surprisingly, some expected favorites are missing from the list of nominees. Both Bethesda's "Starfield" and Blizzard's "Diablo IV" failed to secure a nomination. Both games have generated high expectations, and it's a shame not to see them on the list. But who knows, maybe we'll see them on this prestigious list in the coming years.
Either way, I'm looking forward to the Game Awards 2023 and excited to see who will come out on top. And no matter who wins, in the world of video games, we are all winners!
