Battlefield 2042 Season 5 Update - Squad Management and Commands - What to Expect!

Season 5 in Battlefield 2042: Squad Management Improved

Get ready for exciting new features in the upcoming season of Battlefield 2042! In this article, we'll take a look at the improvements to squad management and what else you can expect throughout the season.

Goals for a Better Squad Experience

The developers have set some goals for the update to make your squad experience even more enjoyable:

  • An easy overview of all squads in your team
  • The ability to create or join a squad
  • Show which squads your friends are playing in
  • Easy navigation through squads

Revamped Squad Menu and Personalization

The Squad menu has been completely overhauled, providing a better overview of all the Squads in your team. You can now see how many players or friends are in a Squad and what classes they are playing. Additionally, the leader can use their player card tag as the Squad emblem. For more individuality, the narrative team has developed code names for each Squad, such as "Gravedigger."

Creating and Joining Squads Made Easy

Creating a new Squad or joining an existing one has never been easier. You can now do this directly from the Squad menu, instead of only being able to switch to a random Squad from the deployment screen. When creating a new Squad, there is a short wait time before other players can join your Squad – ensuring that you can play with your friends.

Easy Navigation Through Squads

The new menu allows for easier and faster navigation through the different Squads in your team. This way, you can switch Squads at any time with just a few clicks.

Squad Commands: Collaboration Rewarded

Playing with your Squad not only makes it more fun, but it's also more effective. However, there hasn't been a clear role for the leader of a Squad. The current ping system allows for giving commands, but it doesn't offer any incentive for other players to follow those commands. With the new Squad Commands, that's about to change!

How Squad Commands Work

The leader can select a target for attack or defense, and other members can confirm and work together on that command. If successful, all Squad members receive additional XP – the more you contribute, the more XP you earn. In short: play the objective (PTFO) and get rewarded!

Preview of Season 5

We hope you enjoy the Squad management improvements in Battlefield 2042 and can better decide who you want to collaborate with during a game. Please continue to provide feedback to the developers! We look forward to making these new features available to you during Season 5.
