EA and Dice's Battlefield series faces a big challenge this year. After the last installment, Battlefield V, which came out in 2018 and returned to the series' roots with its World War II scenario, met with little enthusiasm from many fans, it is now time to return to old strength. This, if you believe the statements of many Battlefield newcomers in different forums, is above all in the present or in the near future, because especially Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 still count as the most popular parts at all.
With official statements, the developers have so far held back strongly, which of course makes the rumor mill all the more intense. Every snippet, every supposed screenshot and every incidental statement from official sources is analyzed in detail, in order to finally receive the long-awaited information about the new Battlefield. This, as things stand now, does not even have an official name and is therefore still referred to by fans as Battlefield 6.
What's certain now?
There are some things that have already been confirmed or at least teased by official sources. These include, for example, the release period. So definitely in the year 2021 with a publication of the new Battlefield is to be expected, most likely in the lucrative holiday season between the US holiday Thanksgiving and Christmas. That Battlefield 6 will appear for the new console generation, i.e. for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as well as for the PC, was clear from the start. But recently we also know that the new shooter will also appear for the previous models, so that all PS4 and Xbox One gamers can look forward to the release. With the following official information it then becomes a little more vague, these are based namely on the tech demo that EA released as part of EA Play 2020.
From this, several things can be deduced, on the one hand, that the battles in Battlefield 6 could become bigger than in older installments and thus possibly break the sound barrier of 64 players. This is indicated by the representation of the numerous gray soldiers who are rushing towards each other on an implied battlefield. Also graphically, Battlefield 6 is likely to make a big jump forward with the power of the new generations. This can be read from the extremely detailed animated face of a soldier who can be seen
First real gameplay scenes from Battlefield 6?
As already hinted, there are also several trailers with moving images on Imgur. One of these videos only shows the scenes from which the screenshots described above were taken and therefore hardly provides any new approaches. However, an exciting detail can also be seen here at the very end. There, in bright blue, the familiar Battlefield logo without any additional text is emblazoned. Although this could of course be imitated quite easily, if it is indeed genuine material, the logo could point to the name of the new installment. This would simply be called "Battlefield" and could indicate a reboot of the series.
Another trailer on Imgur apparently shows real gameplay scenes from Battlefield 6. However, some of the images obviously come from other games, including older Battlefield titles, so caution is definitely advised here. Some scenes fit the pictures described above and could therefore actually belong to the new installment.
One detail is particularly interesting here, because we see a section from the first-person perspective, in which the soldier turns his gaze away from the weapon and looks to the side. So in the future it might actually be possible to keep an eye on the surroundings while we aim the weapon in another direction. The rumours of even more detailed destruction of the environment and extreme weather conditions such as tornados are also persistent. Both can also be seen in the supposed gameplay trailer, but of course could also come from other sources.
