Behaviour Interactive, a Canadian development studio, has acquired SockMonkey Studios. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The British developer will operate under the name Behaviour UK - North and be part of Behaviour's Services department. The studio will offer development services to companies such as Sony, Activision and Ubisoft.
SockMonkey Studios was founded in 2013 and currently employs 45 people. SockMonkey's CEO, Bob Makin, sees the acquisition as a first step in Behaviour Interactive's European expansion.
Behaviour Interactive also acquired Midwinter Entertainment from Improbable last year.
The company has an impressive track record with titles such as Dead by Daylight and Fallout Shelter Online. With this acquisition, Behaviour will strengthen its presence in Europe and expand its offering of development services.
With the various acquisitions and expansions in recent years, Behaviour Interactive is showing that it intends to remain a major player in the video game industry and continue to pursue high growth.
