A new game has made its way to Steam Early Access: "Big Ambitions". Although the development team at Hovgaard Games is both excited and anxious about it, it feels like a milestone. Here's a summary of what you should know about the game.
Development journey to release
The development of "Big Ambitions" officially began on May 14th, 2020, exactly one month and four days after their first game, "Startup Company," was fully released. The basic idea was simple: to create a management or tycoon game, but with the freedom that RPGs offer. The developers drew inspiration from various games to make design decisions, but with "Big Ambitions", it was different. There was no game that mixed exactly what they had in mind.
That's why they had to start from scratch, only to realize that it didn't quite fit their concept and they had to start over again. Fortunately, the pre-order customers understood the developers' vision and supported the project from the beginning. Over time, "Big Ambitions" gained more and more importance, and additional team members could be hired. Currently, four people are working full-time on the game.
What can you expect in the Early Access phase?
"Big Ambitions" is the dream game of the development team, and therefore they are far from finished. The Early Access phase is expected to last 8-12 months, but the developers hope that if revenue allows, they can follow a similar path to games like "Euro Truck Simulator 2" or "Factorio." The goal of the game is to be the best and most comprehensive management/tycoon game ever.
Many more features are planned on the roadmap, which will be added gradually.
