Biomutant - Low memory requirements fuel skepticism

The open-world action RPG Biomutant has been one of the gaming community's most anticipated releases for some time now. For a long time, there was very little news about the ambitious project by developer Experiment 101, which is to be published by THQ Nordic. Even the planned release for 2020, which was to be on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, could not be met. But recently, the Biomutant team finally broke their silence and announced not only the system requirements but also a release date. So the title is now scheduled to be released on May 21, 2021, and will be published for the platforms indicated.

Low storage requirements fuel skepticism

In addition to the joy of the announcement of the date, there are also skeptical voices when looking at the technical data, for example on Steam. With only 25 GB, the action RPG's storage hunger is surprisingly low, which raises questions in light of the open world. But if you look at what the developers have already announced about Biomutant, there should be no cause for panic here.

Open world with focus on story

The story plays a big role in Biomutant. Your decisions during the course of the game affect the plot thanks to the morality system, resulting in different endings. With a story of at least ten hours of gameplay, Biomutant is not on the same scale as an Assassin's Creed, but it still delivers a decent amount of content. In addition, there is a lively open world with seven different biomes, in which NPCs, side quests, and puzzles await you. Maybe it's the compact approach that sets Biomutant apart from the mass of open-world games and makes it a special highlight.
