For fans of the multiplayer shooter Overwatch and the action role-playing series Diablo, this year begins with bad news. Although players expected a release of both titles this year, the developer has now refuted this hope in a recently held investor conference.
If you are waiting for Diablo 4 or Overwatch 2, you will have to wait a little longer. According to Blizzard's finance chief Dennis Durkin, a release is not to be expected until at least 2022. He revealed this during the telephone conference when announcing the company's latest financial results.
Both titles were announced at BlizzCon 2019 with two exciting CGI trailers. However, since then it has been suspiciously quiet about the two games. There is still no trace of an official release date for Diablo 4 or Overwatch 2. Accordingly, the many leaks about a possible release in the spring of this year have not been confirmed.
Fans of the two game series are now hoping for more certainty from BlizzCon 2021. This will take place as an online event in a few days from 19 to 20 February. According to the developers, together with the fans, a look at the latest game content that the development teams have been working on will be thrown.
