Fans of the Call of Duty series can rejoice, as a full-fledged installment of the franchise is in the works. Initially, there was talk of it being a premium DLC for Modern Warfare 2, but now it's taking a different direction. The new game will be a standalone release and directly connected to the Modern Warfare series.
Still undecided: The game's name
Although there is no official name yet, there are rumors that it could be Modern Warfare 3. The game is being developed by Sledgehammer Games and is a collaborative project of Activisions Call of Duty studios.
Beta weekends and campaign early access
There will be two beta weekends, as well as an early-access campaign and an extensive marketing strategy. The game will also be available on older consoles. The key dates are:
- Beta Weekend 1 (October 6th to 10th, 2023)
- Beta Weekend 2 (October 12th to 16th, 2023)
- Early Access Campaign (November 2nd, 2023)
