As the name suggests, Call of Duty Modern Warfare is a reboot of the shooter classic of the same name from 2007. The latest installment of the long-running series was created just like the previous Modern Warfare titles at the developers of Infinity Ward. The goal pursued by the US studio: With Call of Duty Modern Warfare to tell a completely new story that shows the player the horrors of international war in a hard and realistic way.
It is therefore self-evident that the shooter is aimed exclusively at an adult audience. Call of Duty Modern Warfare on PlayStation 4 has been given a time-exclusive game mode that will be exclusive to the Sony console for a period of one year. This is the so-called Survival Mode, which is part of the Spec-Ops Mode.
In Survival Mode, players are tasked with joining forces with up to three friends and plunging into an intense coop battle against enemy forces. In typical horde style, the enemy waves will become stronger, but on the other hand they will also drop more valuable rewards. Apart from the Survival Mode, however, Call of Duty Modern Warfare will do without the time-exclusive DLCs of previous years.
On the PlayStation 4, the shooter from Infinity Ward will be supported for a long time with content updates that provide fresh content such as new playlists, additional operators, brand new weapons or additional multiplayer maps. Recently, the Call of Duty: Warzone named Battle-Royal-Mode for Call of Duty Modern Warfare was released, but interested players are not charged additionally. Instead, the Battle-Royal battles are available for up to 150 participants in the form of a Free2Play title and can be downloaded without additional costs.
Please note that both the online multiplayer of Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone on PlayStation 4 require a valid PlayStation Plus membership. Without this you are denied access to the online components.
