Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 - No longer in the family library

On October 28, 2022, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was released for consoles and PC through Steam and Battle.net. At release, Steam still supported the family library function. However, this is no longer the case as of yesterday, and the function could only be used 3 days after release.

Players complain

This is especially annoying because the game was delivered with this function at release. A retroactive change is rather rare on Steam. Many users have now complained about the change. A common argument is the price of the game and that it simply does not make sense for the few hours of play per week.

Some users share the account with relatives and do not want to spend 70 euros for three to four hours of play per week.

Anti-cheat measure

A suspicion in the community is that this is one of the developer's anti-cheat measures. One wants to prevent users from playing, for example, with a smurf account or even cheating. Team Ricochet went to great lengths with MWII with very strict anti-cheat measures, stating a telephone number and software at the kernel level of the computer.

If you do not want to pay the RRP of 70 euros on Steam, you can save a few euros with the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Key Price Comparison.
