The shooter series Call of Duty is going into the next round. After rumors about the naming of the upcoming Call of Duty have been appearing in recent weeks, the name now seems to be official. According to several sources, the new 16th part of the coveted franchise will simply be called "Modern Warfare". This is probably an attempt to restart the series, something that has already been seen with EA and Need for Speed.
Early this week it was reported that the game would be presented to the press this week and that it would most likely belong to the Modern Warfare series. So it was actually certain that the title would be "Modern Warfare 4". In addition, there were talks that the very popular Modern Warfare 2 from 2009 would be released as a remastered version. This was suspected because there is no backward compatibility on the Xbox One yet. The other games from the last generation, however, already are.
Call of Duty has been the flagship shooter for years, even though the future setting of many parts didn't please many players. In the first-person shooter you fight your way through the war zones in the single player to reach your goal or you go into the immediate action in the multiplayer. The game has become popular because of the fast gameplay, among other things.
The parts of the Modern Warfare series focus on the modern era and not, like other CoD parts, on the Second World War or the future.
