Call of Duty Vanguard - Season 1 in Review

Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to be one of the biggest video games of the year. The WWII shooter will release this week for PC and consoles, with more content planned.

Call of Duty: Vanguard releases on Friday, November 5th - possibly as early as Thursday evening, so keep your eyes peeled - for PC (via Battle.net) as well as for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. There will be some exclusive PlayStation content, but not as much as previous Call of Duty releases.

The game will also be cross-platform, just like Modern Warfare (2019) and Black Ops Cold War, which is great news. This way you can play with friends even if you're on PC and they're playing on PS5 or Xbox One, for example.

All in all, Call of Duty: Vanguard is one of the biggest content drops at the launch of a Call of Duty title ever.

There will be a lot of content at launch

Call of Duty: Vanguard is coming to market with a really impressive amount of content.

A common complaint among Call of Duty players in the past has been too few multiplayer maps at launch. Vanguard is starting with 20 maps on day one. 16 of them are traditional multiplayer maps, while 4 more encompass the new tournament mode Champion Hill.

In addition, there will also be a Zombies mode, developed by Black Ops developer Treyarch and directly linked to the Black Ops Zombies story and lore, as well as a brand new WWII Pacific Warzone map called Caldera, which will not be released until the start of Season 1 in December.

All future maps will be free with an optional Battle Pass

New content for Call of Duty: Vanguard will be released immediately after launch. The classic Chaos map Shipment will be released on November 17th, remastered and with a WWII theme.

Two weeks later, on December 2nd, Vanguard + Warzone Season 1 will start, bringing the new Caldera
