The fifth anniversary of Sea of Thieves is being celebrated in a big way: with feature films, in-game events, and login bonuses. But the best is yet to come: from March 25th to 27th, the Community Weekend will take place. It will be an exciting weekend full of gifts, pirate actions, and a huge number of opportunities to loot.
Voyage of a Lifetime
To kick off the anniversary celebrations, a feature-length documentary was released on March 20th, showcasing the journey of the Sea of Thieves developers since the inception of every pirate adventure. It's the perfect opportunity to learn how Sea of Thieves was brought to life. The documentary offers insights into the development work that went into creating the pirate adventure, as well as interviews with the developers.
Twice as Nice
This weekend, the Community Emissary Grade Challenge will take place. It lasts for 48 hours and starts at 10 am UTC on March 25th. The challenge involves collectively increasing the Community Emissary Grade on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, YouTube, and Instagram. The only requirement is to change the hashtag from #SeaOfThievesCommunityDay to #SoTAnniversaryPromo. Raising the grade activates multipliers that apply to gold, reputation, renown, and allegiance. The highest grade rewards with two and a half times the usual amount of rewards.
Login Bonus Bonanza
One week after the start of the anniversary, a particularly generous login bonus will be offered. In addition to the Community Day flag, there will also be a special Gilded Flag of Fellowship and the Baker's Barrel Disguise Emote. Of particular interest is the free Pirate Legend voyage, which is available to all players. The journey can also be undertaken by pirates who have not yet reached this high rank.
50 Million Ancient Coins
Once the Community Emissary Grade reaches its highest value, a large number of Ancient Skeletons will be found. The first 50 million players to destroy these special skeletons will be rewarded with Ancient Coins. These can be spent in the game to buy premium items from the Pirate Emporium, for example. After reaching the limit, the Ancient Skeletons will return to their original spawn rate.
