CHANGE: A Homeless Survival Experience - Digital criticism of an indifferent society

With CHANGE: A Homeless Survival Experience, British developer Delve Interactive has released a survival experience of a different kind. At the same time, the game's distribution supports charitable purposes.

Delve Interactive, the makers of the colorful retro platformer Poncho, have made a name for themselves among indie fans. In CHANGE: A Homeless Survival Experience, however, things will get a lot more serious. According to the British studio, its current project is about drawing attention to the fate of the homeless and giving the player an impression of the hard life on the street.

At the same time, CHANGE: A Homeless Survival Experience is, according to the developers, an open letter of hate and a digital criticism of an indifferent society in which the weaker are increasingly pushed to the margins and left to their fate. In CHANGE: A Homeless Survival Experience, players take on the role of five different homeless people and find themselves in a randomly generated city that will feel different each time you play and will therefore present new challenges.

Upon arrival in the city, the players fight for their bare survival and look for a way out of their predicament. They need food, clothing, safe places to stay overnight or social contacts. The game is supposed to score points with a comprehensive perk system that comes with more than 130 passive and active skills with which the players can further develop their homeless person individually.

Hundreds of excitingly written "night events" allow the player to actively influence the further course of the action. At the same time, the homeless people build friendships and arrange themselves with life on the street. According to the developers of Delve Interactive, the stories and elements of CHANGE: A Homeless Survival Experience are based on their own research. The British studio attaches particular importance to the fact that CHANGE: A Homeless Survival Experience is much more than just a simple game.

This is not only intended to draw attention to the existing problems of a welfare society. At the same time, 20 percent of all revenue generated from the sale of CHANGE: A Homeless Survival Experience will be donated to charitable causes. The donations are to benefit, among other things, organizations that work for the homeless.
