Cloud Gaming - Console games on mobile devices

Playing games over the cloud via stream is currently one of the most important trends in the gaming industry. In our Cloud Gaming Provider Test we have already taken a closer look at some providers, and in the meantime Microsoft is also bringing its platform Project xCloud to the cloud gaming market. Like Google Stadia, it allows gamers to play console games on their mobile device. Both respond to a great desire of the players for flexibility and freedom.

Gamers like to play on their smartphones

It's no news that video game fans like to play on their smartphones. Since 2018, the mobile device has been the most popular gaming platform in Germany. The advantages of playing on the go are obvious. Who wouldn't be happy to always have the console in their pocket and play whenever and wherever they feel like it? The popularity of mobile games can be seen everywhere. With Candy Crush Saga we have been forming rows of sweets on our smartphones since 2012. Pokémon Go made us all go out into the streets to catch them all with our smartphones. The best providers of casino games, which are rated and listed on https://www.casinos.de, now also offer a mobile version of the classics. With Super Mario Run, the retro game of the NES console has now made it to the smartphone. Now video game giants like Fortnite, PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile are following. Everything is moving to the smartphone and cloud gaming will give it even more wings.

Console Games on the Go

Cloud gaming could make consoles and gaming PCs obsolete, because it brings the whole world of games to mobile devices. Anyone who buys the Stadia Premiere Edition at https://store.google.com/de will receive a controller and a Google Chromecast Ultra, with which video game hits like Assassin's Creed and Final Fantasy can be played immediately on an Android device or even on a television. You don't need a PC or console, just a fast internet connection. Microsoft's new platform, Project xCloud, which is currently in beta testing, will also bring Xbox console games to the smartphone. We are still in the early stages of cloud gaming, and it will take some time before the full range of console games can be played smoothly on mobile. Currently, the internet connection is often still a problem area that causes annoying lags. However, the new mobile standard 5G will alleviate this as soon as it is rolled out and further boost the trend of cloud gaming on the smartphone.

Cloud gaming is on the rise and fulfills gamers' desire to be able to play their favorite games anywhere, anytime. People are already playing a lot on their smartphones, but once cloud gaming is further established and 5G is rolled out, the mobile device will probably finally take on a console role.
