The universe of Contractors is expanding with Contractors Showdown, a new VR Battle Royale game set to capture the hearts of fans in 2024. Compared to the few existing VR Battle Royale games like the popular Population: One, Contractors Showdown promises to raise the bar. Caveman Studio is gearing up to release the game later this year and has announced a series of open beta weekends starting on March 1st.
Joining the Beta
Following a closed beta in February that gave early players a taste, Contractors Showdown is now opening up to a wider audience.
The open beta is available for all Steam VR and Meta Quest owners for free and will run over three consecutive weekends: from March 1 to 3, 8 to 10, and 15 to 17. To participate, interested individuals need to join the Contractors Showdown Discord, as the beta will not be directly downloadable from the official stores.
The Battle Awaits You
The gameplay of Contractors Showdown unfolds on a massive 16-square-kilometer map, offering a diverse landscape for team play or lone wolves. With up to 45 players per match, participants can compete solo, in pairs, or in groups of three.
The developers promise a tactical experience where players can dominate the battlefield using tools like airstrikes and UAVs. An arsenal of pistols, SMGs, automatic rifles, sniper rifles, and various types of grenades is available, complemented by a unique perk system and a progression mechanic that allows players to gather resources, unlock blueprints, and customize their character with numerous cosmetics.
A Glimpse into the Future
Following the conclusion of the open beta, Caveman Studio plans to officially release Contractors Showdown in the second quarter of 2024. This presents an exciting opportunity for VR enthusiasts and Battle Royale fans alike to experience a new level of competition and immersion.
With the upcoming release and open beta tests, Contractors Showdown is on the verge of revitalizing the VR gaming scene and inviting players worldwide into its tactical universe.
