Crusader Kings III - Your Path to the Throne

Hello dear Keyfuchs community, we have exciting news for all fans of Crusader Kings III! Developer Diary #133 is here, giving us some fascinating insights into the latest update of the game, called Wards and Wardens. But before we dive into the details, let's take a moment to clarify the situation.

You are a powerful ruler, your bloodline is strong, and your offspring frolic happily in your court. But as a ruler, you have more important matters to attend to than taking care of the children. So what do you do? You call for a wet nurse!

The Role of Wet Nurses in Crusader Kings III

Historically, wet nurses were women in the court who took care of infants who needed to be breastfed for various reasons. Over time, this position evolved, and in some cases, a wet nurse became an indispensable part of the family. She could take care of older children and become an influential advisor or even a second mother.

In Crusader Kings III, the position of the wet nurse is portrayed as a court position. A young ruler or one with children can hire a suitable woman as a wet nurse. In return, she provides protection against diseases for the children of the court and informs the ruler about important developmental milestones of the children.

Coming of Age Rituals

As part of the focus on children in this event pack, the developers place special emphasis on the moment of coming of age. This transition is usually symbolized by a ceremony or ritual. It could be a duel where the child must fight against an adult from the same culture, or a kind of self-discovery journey into the wilderness.

Guardianship and Personality Development

Have you ever felt that being a guardian has little influence on the personality traits of your ward? Well, that's about to change! The guardian now has access to an interaction that allows them to select one of their own personality traits and transfer it to the ward.

All these features are part of the "Wards & Wardens" event pack, which will certainly add even more depth to the game. So if you're already a fan of Crusader Kings or simply fascinated by the complex world of medieval politics and intrigue, you should definitely get a Steam key for this amazing game.

What's Next?

Next week, the final developer diary before the release will be published! In it, we will cover our new, beautiful art and animations. So stay tuned!
