Although Cyberpunk 2077 has not yet received an official assessment from the German Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Body (USK), the rating of the American Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) suggests a rating of 18 years and up. Fans of The Witcher 3 will not have expected anything else from CD Projekt Red. The game also received a rating of 18 when it was released in 2015. In another respect, it seems that the Polish video game developer is taking The Witcher 3 as a model: DLC. The Witcher 3 got two story-based expansions with many extra hours of gameplay at reasonable prices. In addition, there were more than a dozen free packages with costumes, weapons and missions.
According to CD Projekt Red spokespersons, the basic game of Cyberpunk 2077 will also receive expansions and additional content of this kind after its release. No details are known yet. However, on June 11, 2020, CD Projekt Red will host a stream called Night City Wire as part of the virtual video game fair Summer Game Fest. This is where official announcements can be expected.
Cyberpunk 2077 is not a Witcher 3 clone
Despite all the similarities to The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 has its own identity. You don't control the character from a third-person perspective, but from a first-person perspective. In addition, Cyberpunk 2077 is designed as a shooter. In previous gameplay demonstrations, special emphasis has been placed on the many modifiable weapons. For all fans of The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 is of course a revelation.
