Cyberpunk 2077: CD Projekt Red announces Hardcore mode

Cyberpunk 2077 is the next big role-playing game from "The Witcher 3" developer CD Projekt Red. Until the release in April 2020, the Polish studio will provide us with new information about the open-world sci-fi RPG.

No moral system in Cyberpunk 2077

It is already known that Cyberpunk 2077 will be based on the gameplay of The Witcher 3. However, the improvement possibilities for the equipment are to be further refined. For example, players can now equip their firearms with sights and suppressors or strengthen the numerous melee weapons. The arsenal should range from revolver to sniper rifle.

The moral system known from The Witcher 3 will be dispensed with in Cyberpunk 2077. Nevertheless, the player's decisions should have an impact on the story, as developer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz reveals.

Side Quests and Personal Vehicle

Outside of the cities, players will explore the wasteland. There will also be numerous side quests there such as boxing, hacking, or illegal car racing. At the shooting range, players can train their weapon skills. Overall, the world of Cyberpunk 2077 will be divided into six city districts. If you want to play as a nomad, you can specify this when creating your character and start the game as part of a nomad family.

To quickly reach the various locations, the player has their own vehicle in Cyberpunk 2077. Similar to horse stables in The Witcher 3, the vehicle comes driving out of the garage on command. In addition, it will be possible to steal cars and motorcycles and park them in your own garage in the old GTA style. Only airplanes will not be able to be piloted by the player.

Hardcore Mode without Interface

Cyberpunk 2077 is said to already have a moderate difficulty. Particularly resourceful players can switch to the even more challenging hardcore mode, which comes without an interface and with stronger opponents. Developer CD Projekt Red has also announced expansions. However, these should by no means be "cut out" content from the main game, but rather independent stories similar to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Cyberpunk will be released on April 16, 2020 for PC, Xbox and PS4. An implementation for the upcoming consoles PS5 and Xbox Scarlett is also conceivable. However, those who want to play the title have to plan at least 80 GB of free hard disk space on the Sony console.
