Patch 1.62 for Cyberpunk 2077
A new Cyberpunk 2077 patch is now available for PC, bringing the impressive Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode, NVIDIA DLAA and Intel XeSS support, as well as other improvements.
Patch 1.62 introduces the technology preview of Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode, a new path-traced rendering mode that can only be run on high-end machines with acceptable performance. According to CD Projekt Red, the Overdrive Mode is only supported on the NVIDIA RTX 40 series and RTX 3090, but only at a 1080p resolution and 30 FPS on the previous generation of graphics cards. Other raytracing-capable GPUs with at least 8 GB VRAM can render path-traced screenshots in photo mode.
NVIDIA DLAA and Intel XeSS Support
The new Cyberpunk 2077 patch also introduces NVIDIA DLAA support, an AI-based anti-aliasing mode that requires an NVIDIA RTX GPU, as well as Intel XeSS support and benchmark improvements. The full update notes can be found on the official game website.
Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode in Action
Despite its new technology, the Cyberpunk 2077 Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode seems to deliver on its promise by offering massive visual improvements, as highlighted by Digital Foundry in a new video. The enormous performance hit can be mitigated through DLSS 3 and frame generation to deliver playable framerates, although only RTX 4090 users can run the game in Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode and still have a playable experience.
Upcoming Content and Expansions for Cyberpunk 2077
While the Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode is only available to select users, Cyberpunk 2077 is set to receive additional features and content throughout the year that will be available to a wider user base, such as the Phantom Liberty expansion. Featuring a new character played by renowned actor Idris Elba, the expansion will be CD Projekt Red's biggest budget project yet. Further details on this expansion will be announced starting in June.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now available worldwide on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One. The aforementioned Phantom Liberty expansion will only be available later this year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
