Fresh content straight from the dissecting table
From new locations to fresh minibosses and a complete overhaul of the torch and Hellfire mechanics, the Surgeon's Table update has a lot to offer. And as the icing on the cake, both gamepad and Steam Deck support are now available! So let's take a closer look under the blood-soaked bandages of this update.
New Mini-Bosses and Champions
The Collector is back, my friends! This greedy miniboss is after wealth... and heads. But he is not alone. Alongside him comes the gaunt Surgeon - a miniboss designed in collaboration with a Darkest Dungeon II superfan named Sam. The gaunt Surgeon even has his own location, aptly named the Surgeon's Table. Here, you can snatch unique rewards!
Updated Torch System and Hellfire
But that's not all. The update brings extensive changes to the torch system and the Hellfire. The goal is to build upon the existing systems and provide you, as a player, with more flavor, identity, and strategy.

But fear not, the team behind Darkest Dungeon II is not resting on their laurels. They are already working on additional hero skin packs, mod support, and other quality-of-life improvements.
Battlefield Cleanup - General Improvements
- Added controller support: Xbox and PS controllers are now supported, and the UI adapts when using a gamepad.
- Full support for Steam Deck: Finally, you can explore your darkest dungeons on the go!
- Adjusted end-round action behavior: To better indicate when important end-round actions will occur during a battle.
- General improvements to region modifiers: Because every good adventurer knows that the environment is just as important as the sword in hand.
In addition to all these changes, various bugs have been fixed and texts have been improved. All in all, a solid update for all fans of Darkest Dungeon II.
