Darksiders: Genesis - Cleanup crew sent from heaven

Mount up on your warhorse - Darksiders: Genesis from THQ Nordic unleashes the fourth rider of the apocalypse. Strife (translated from German as "conflict") sets off into the underworld to hunt monsters and demons. But he's not alone.

Now watch the official Darksiders: Genesis Cinematic Trailer and experience the adventures of Strife.

A New Perspective

In the Darksiders games, players look over the shoulder of one of the four apocalyptic riders as they fight their way through a world of chaos and destruction. In doing so, the riders uncover a conspiracy that has been spun by angels and demons and simply degraded the earth and its people to a playing field.

Strife's adventure takes place before the outbreak of the apocalypse and lifts the view into the air. Because the players leave the view over the shoulder and get instead a top-down action role-playing game. With this, Strife has the opportunity to always keep an eye on the events around him and to make quick work of dangers in his rear.

A colorful arsenal of weapons

What would a rider of the apocalypse be if he couldn't heat up dark creatures properly? Strife at least doesn't want to find out and covers himself with a lot of weapons and special abilities for his fight.

While he prefers his small, handy duo pistols, the rider finds attack options such as a 360° roundabout or a burning demon sword that cuts a swath of fire through the enemy with every sword stroke. So equipped, the fight against the end can start well.

Lone fighters with backup

In the cinematic trailer for Darksiders: Genesis you can see Strife as he enters the refuge of a giant demon all by himself. The three-headed villain is at least four times as tall as Strife and even against the numerous minions present, the rider of the apocalypse looks rather small. Nevertheless, he bravely faces the horde and announces that the Council has commissioned him to cleanse this demon's lair. While the hellish creatures break out in laughter, Strife lets his words be followed by deeds. First he dispatches the giant three-headed demon, before a fireball falling from the sky decimates the minions.

In doing so, the trailer reveals an exciting game feature. Because the fireball is not just a natural force. Instead, it is War ("war") who comes to the aid of his brother. Darksiders: Genesis also offers players the opportunity to fight alone or in co-op mode. So slaying demons is even more fun!
