Darksiders Genesis: Trailer introduces Strife
Darksiders Genesis will be released on December 5, 2019 for PC on Steam and Google Stadia. THQ Nordic and Airship Syndicate have released a new trailer just over a week before release, introducing protagonist Strife.
Action-RPG in the Darksiders Universe
Darksiders Genesis is the first spin-off from the popular Darksiders series. Three installments have been released since 2010, each focusing on War (Krieg), Death (Tod) and Fury (Wut).
The latest installment is set before the events of the original game and tells the story of demon king Lucifer and his diabolical plan. In it, players take on the role of Strife (Hader), who, together with his brother War, plows through hordes of enemies. The trailer sheds some light on the main character.
Strife is the rider of the white horse and operates under the motto "Shoot first, ask questions later." Mounted on his horse Unheil and equipped with a thick armor, players can look forward to plenty of gameplay variety.
Online Co-op and Local Multiplayer
In the style of Diablo, players roam the dark worlds in a top-down view and can rely on numerous special powers. The highlight is the creature core system, with which the dark heroes are gradually supplied with more attack power, jump strength or luck with healing and ammunition drops.
The creature cores are earned by defeating opponents or traded for the hard-earned souls at Vulgrim's store. The new trailer rips some details from the story. Finally, the origins of the four apocalyptic riders, who bear great power within them, are to be revealed.
Both Strife and War, which are both playable, can grow into colossal giant riders via a special attack bar and perform devastating attacks.
For the first time, there is also a local multiplayer as well as an online co-op, in which the other player takes on the role of War to fight through the story mode.
Release Date and Steam Key Offers
Darksiders Genesis can be played on Steam from December 5th. PlayStation 4 and Xbox players will have to wait until February 14, 2020 before they can enjoy the dungeon crawler. Of course, the best Darksiders Genesis Steam Key offers can already be found in the Keyfuchs price comparison.
