In 2019, the Invader Studios team delivered Daymare: 1998, a true homage to horror classics like Resident Evil. Now, a sequel to the game, Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle, has been announced, due out in 2022. In addition to PC users, owners of a PS4 and PS5, as well as an Xbox One and Series X/S, will be treated to a corresponding version. A first trailer gives an insight into what awaits you in the prequel to the first Daymare.
A successful mix of horror, action and puzzles
Daymare: 1998 impressed with a variety of gameplay mechanics that fans of the survival horror genre love in classics like Resident Evil. In addition to exciting shooter passages from the third-person perspective, there were also a lot of atmospheric places waiting to be explored by you. From suburban houses, dark forests, to laboratories and medical facilities, Daymare: 1998 offered a wealth of locations that could be searched for clues, weapons and ammunition. In addition, the horror game offered different perspectives, challenging puzzles and surprising twists in the story that kept the tension until the end.
Old strengths in new clothes
The continuation Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle now wants to take up the strengths of the predecessor and tell a new story that, however, also repeatedly touches on different characters from Part 1.
This time the special agent Dalila Reyes is at the center of the action, who works for the organization H.A.D.E.S known from Daymare: 1998. It is now up to her to explore the secret rooms of a military research center and uncover one or the other dark secret in the process. She faces numerous dangerous creatures and uses a wealth of weapons.
This also includes the new powerful Frostgriff, which can freeze opponents with liquid nitrogen. The environment puzzles also do not come up short in the new part and receive a new element with the scanner, which helps to scan the environment and thus discover secret items. The graphic power of the Unreal 4 engine breathes life into the locations and a atmospheric new soundtrack contributes to the creepy atmosphere. An revised interface, better known as G.A.G., gives you even better control over your inventory with all weapons and other items in the second part, making the game easier for you.
Experience the story according to your ideas
Like Part 1, the prequel is also based on a story-driven single-player experience, in which the story of the different characters plays a central role. So that you can play the game according to your wishes, Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle offers you different difficulty levels, from Rookie to Veteran. This way you decide for yourself whether you want to focus on challenging fights or on experiencing the story.
