Dead by Daylight - Update: New Round, New Horror

The Horror Never Ends

The spooky season is officially here and we're gearing up with a comprehensive developer update that covers everything coming to the game Dead by Daylight next month. This time around, we have news about new features, killer updates, and various changes to perks and maps.

Anti Face-Camping

You probably don't want to be hanging on the hook, but it can quickly become frustrating when the killer stays nearby and only the most coordinated teams can save you. To help in the most extreme cases, the developers are introducing a new feature that could give you a second chance.

From now on, a new counter will appear when you are hooked. This counter gradually fills up when the Killer is near you. The closer the Killer is, the faster the counter fills up. Once it is full, you will gain the ability to unhook yourself with a 100% success rate, even during the second hook phase. To ensure that this feature cannot be abused by aggressive Survivors, the speed at which the counter fills up will decrease - or even stop completely - when other Survivors are nearby. Additionally, this feature will be completely deactivated once the exit gates are activated.

The Skull Handler

Since the first appearance of the drones in the Entity's realm, they have mainly served as "eyes on the generators," leading to very long matches. In this update, the developers are reworking the Skull Handler's drones to reduce their effectiveness in defending generators while improving their strength in chases.

The Broken Plaza

This update will include a gameplay update for the map "The Broken Plaza." While reviewing the feedback for this map, the developers have identified some points they wanted to address.

The MacMillan Estate

The work on the maps doesn't stop here; the entire MacMillan Estate is being expanded. Each map in this realm has received a second alternative version.

Perks

Next, the developers have made a few minor adjustments to a handful of perks.

Killer Adjustments

To round it all off, they have also made a short list of adjustments for several different killers. As usual, these are minor tweaks that they can incorporate into various updates. With the end of this month, the developers have reached the end of the developer update. Each of the features and adjustments mentioned in this post will be available on the public test server starting this week, with the full update going live on all platforms at a later date. So grab your Dead by Daylight key and dive into the adventure. Until next time.
