Dead By Daylight to Receive a Single-Player Game
What's the latest on the single-player game for Dead by Daylight by Supermassive Games? All will be revealed at this year's Game Awards. Dead by Daylight is set to receive a single-player game, which Supermassive Games has been very secretive about until now. That's about to change, as the developer has confirmed that the new game will be unveiled for the first time at the Game Awards 2023.
From Multiplayer to Solo Horror
When Supermassive Games announced that they were developing a single-player horror game based on Dead by Daylight, excitement was high. After all, if anyone can transform the horror theme of Behaviour Interactive's asymmetrical multiplayer game into a solo experience, it's Supermassive.
Supermassive: Masters of Horror
Supermassive is known for its interactive horror games, where the fates of the characters depend on your decisions. And now, six months later, Supermassive has confirmed that we will see its single-player game Dead by Daylight at the Game Awards. I can't wait to see what nightmares they will inflict upon the gaming community.
So much lore for a solo game
Starting with only four killers in 2016, Behaviour's game now has 33 Dead by Daylight Killers (including several guest killers), each with their own individual backstory. That's an absolute treasure trove of lore for Supermassive.
A new way to experience Dead By Daylight
"This is a completely new way for horror fans to experience Dead by Daylight," says studio director Steve Goss in Supermassive's announcement video.
Game plot and characters
Supermassive has also hinted at how the events in the game will unfold. The matches of the game, or trials, take place in a fragmented world under the supervision of a supernatural being called the Entity. But as executive producer Traci Tufte confirms, the game is set in the 'real' world, outside the control of the Entity. So even if you're a Dead by Daylight expert, everything is open.
New survivors instead of Nicolas Cage
There is also a completely new group of survivors, which means no Nicolas Cage, sorry. Tune in to the Game Awards to see the reveal and learn more about the new game on Thursday, December 7th at 4:30 PM PST / 7:30 PM EST or on Friday, December 8th at 12:30 AM GMT / 1:30 AM CET / 11:30 AM AEDT.
