Dead by Daylight - All about the exciting April 2023 update!

Today, we have exciting news for you about the popular horror game Dead by Daylight. In this article, we'll be discussing the latest update in April 2023, which brings some interesting and long-awaited changes. From adjustments to healing and med-kits to revisions to Hillbilly and his perks, as well as updates to the Autohaven Wreckers maps - here, you'll find everything you need to know while keeping the personal tone intact.

Healing and Med-Kits: What's Changing?

Let's start with the most discussed part of the update: healing. In the Public Test Build (PTB), the base healing time was increased from 16 to 24 seconds, which was a significant change. However, don't worry, after evaluating player feedback, this change has been scrapped for now. Instead, the focus is now on adjusting med-kits.

To better balance the game, all med-kits now have a total of 24 charges (as in the PTB) and a 33% speed and efficiency penalty when self-healing. The healing speed when healing others has also been increased for all med-kits.

Adjustments to Med-Kit Add-ons

Some add-ons for med-kits have also been reworked. Here's a quick overview of the most important changes:

  • Rubber Gloves: New effect – Increases the great skill check success zone by 10%.
  • Butterfly Tape: Increases healing speed by 5% (was 3%).
  • Sponge: New effect – Increases the great skill check success zone by 20%.
  • Needle & Thread: Added effect – Increases the progress bonus for successful great skill checks by 5%. Removed effect – No longer grants bonus Bloodpoints for great skill checks.

The Hillbilly Update: Everything You Need to Know

The infamous killer The Hillbilly also received a small rework. The most significant change: the adjustments to the Death Engravings and Doom Engravings add-ons have been reverted. However, the tweaks to the overheating mechanic have been kept to make it less restrictive and more enjoyable to play as the Hillbilly overall.

Exciting Perk Changes in the Update

Some perks have also been reworked in this update, including some meta options for killers and survivors. Let's take a look at the most significant changes:

Dead Hard

The new Dead Hard perk now activates when you're downed or when you self-down, meaning the downed survivor becomes less of a clear target for the killer.

Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance

The regression on Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance has been increased to 15/20/25%, making this perk more rewarding when trying to chase different survivors.

Boon: Circle of Healing

Since this perk no longer grants self-healing, the healing speed bonus of Circle of Healing has been increased to 50/75/100% to make it overall more playable.

Autohaven Wreckers Map Updates

Finally, there's an exciting map update for Autohaven Wreckers. Some new tilesets have been introduced to make gameplay even more thrilling. For example, there's an updated tile design that will be available upon release – stay tuned!

That's it for the news on the April 2023 update in Dead by Daylight. What do you think of the changes? We're curious to hear your opinion and wish you continued fun playing!
