The puzzle around the gameplay of Dead Island 2 was further closed with a new showcase. So it should now have some advantages if you are infected yourself.
After the release of Dead Island 2 was postponed a few weeks ago and is now due to appear on April 28th, the developers gave us more information on the gameplay in a new showcase. This consisted mostly of a live-action trailer. In the gameplay trailer with the two playable characters Jacob and Amy, we still got a lot of information.
In general, it's usually pretty bad if you get bitten by zombies in video games, because then you turn into one yourself. Not so in Dead Island 2, where it's actually quite useful. If you get bitten in the game, you take on a zombie form for a while. In this form, you can then tear apart other infected people with your bare hands. The trailer doesn't reveal how this will affect the story.
In addition, the trailer announced that there will be numerous close and long-range weapons in the game, including: pipe wrenches, hammers, katanas, swords, baseball bats, bear claws, revolvers or assault rifles. In addition, you can modify the weapons at workbenches to create, for example, electrified knives or motorized hammers. However, the weapons won't last forever and could be a thorn in the side of melee fans in particular. Similar to Dying Light 2, there should also be a lot of parkour in Dead Island 2, with which you can explore LA even over the rooftops of the city.
It will be a while until the release on Steam and Co., but we can be excited.
