Dead Space Remake is coming to Steam without Origin
This news should make most gamers happy. The Dead Space Remake will be native to Steam and won't have an Origin requirement. So you won't need the Origin launcher to play.
An EA representative has now made this public. Unfortunately, no comment was made on whether this will also apply to future EA releases. Many players are extremely annoyed by this double launcher requirement.
The upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Survivor still shows on the Steam page that you need Origin to play.
