Server Issues with "Destiny 2"
Players of "Destiny 2" have been experiencing bizarre situations for several weeks now, and the strange behavior continues. The artificial intelligence of the enemies seems to have completely malfunctioned. If you managed to log into the Destiny 2 servers this weekend but found that the enemies are seemingly taking a passive approach and completely ignoring you, you are not alone.
"Destiny 2" has been dealing with numerous server problems and connection issues in the past week, which Bungie attributes to DDoS attacks. Although these have somewhat subsided, players are still being disconnected from the servers in the middle of activities.
Passive enemies and other issues
Now, this whole situation has culminated in a new problem that seems to be one of the most broken examples of an FPS game. Numerous Destiny 2 players are sharing online clips of enemies that become completely unresponsive to the player, either running around or standing still as if there were no nearby targets. Even when shot at, they don't react, except for taking damage.
This by far seems not to be the only notable issue that has occurred over the weekend. It is reported that these unresponsive enemies are accompanied by several other problems, including "doors in activities that don't open and rounds in Trials of Osiris that always end in a draw".
Other reported issues
- Rally flag in public events not working
- Similar issue with the Light Chalice in the Destiny 2 Crota's End Raid
However, most players are reporting that the issues have subsided at the time of writing, although there are still reports of such problems coming in.
Outlook and hope for improvement
Bungie has not yet commented on this specific incident, which marks the culmination of a remarkably unstable week for the game. It is always frustrating not being able to play your favorite game, especially for many people when it happens over the weekend. Hopefully, the server issues will be resolved soon, and we can look forward to having fun again and anticipating the release date of "Destiny 2 The Final Shape".
