Detroit: Become Human - Release on PC via Epic Games

Detroit: Become Human for PC

Finally, the time has come: On December 12, 2019, Detroit: Become Human for PC will be released. The game is exclusively available through the Epic Games Store and can now be purchased as an original exclusive PlayStation title for PC, just like Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls.

Detroit: Become Human - another success for Quantic Dream

In May 2018, the interactive action-adventure from Quantic Dream was released for the PlayStation 4. The trade press was already enthusiastic before the release and so it is hardly surprising that Detroit: Become Human became the best-selling game of the developer studio within four months.

Just under a year later, in March 2019, an official press release is then used to announce that work is underway on a port of the science fiction thriller and that it will be released on December 12, 2019. The price in the Epic Store will initially be 39.90 euros. But if you're not sure yet and want to try the game out for yourself, you can download and play the intro scene as a free demo.

„Porting the game to PC was a big challenge.“

According to Quantic Dream, they did not want to compromise on the gaming experience, which is why they put a lot of work into the port. For example, a completely new engine had to be developed to enable 4k resolution and to offer the highest possible rendering quality for the many different PCs. In addition, a new interface was designed to complete the PC adaptation.

However, the effort seems to have paid off, as the game runs at 4k resolution and 60 fps, among other things. In addition, there is the option to use both mouse and keyboard or alternatively the controller.

Detroit: Become Human - System requirements for the PC

Before the release of the PC version, Quantic Dream announced both the recommended and the minimum system specifications. The optimal gaming experience unfolds under Windows 10 (64 bit) with an i5-8400, 2.8GHz or a Ryzen 5 1600. In addition, 16 GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon RX 580 or an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 are planned with at least 4 GB of available video RAM.

The minimum requirements under Windows 10 (64 bit) require at least an Intel Core i7-3770 with 3.4 GHz or an AMD FX-8350 with 4.2 GHz. In addition, 8 GB of RAM, 3 GB of video RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 or an AMD Radeon HD 7950 should be installed in the PC.
