Diablo 2: Resurrected - The reinterpretation of a cult classic

At BlizzCon 2021, Blizzard Entertainment finally announced the remake of Diablo 2. Here's what Diablo 2: Resurrected has to offer in terms of new features.

The reinterpretation of a cult classic

If you've already played the original from 2000, you'll quickly find your way around. With the reissue, both the main game and the Lord of Destruction expansion are returning, along with their respective character classes. While the content remains the same, you can look forward to a host of optimizations in terms of technical implementation.

For example, it quickly becomes apparent that the 2D sprites of the original have been completely revised and visually polished. The same goes for the enemies, the dungeons and the game world itself. On current hardware, moreover, support for native 4K resolution and a display in butter-smooth 60 frames per second is also part of the package. Are you in the mood for a healthy dose of nostalgia?

No problem. With the push of a button, Diablo 2: Resurrected allows you to switch back and forth between the revised graphics and the original look from 2000 at any time. According to the developers at Blizzard Entertainment, they are also considering adding crossplay and cross-progression support, which could follow after the launch. However, nothing is set in stone yet.
