The 29th season of Diablo 3 is being promoted as the final season, as the team shifts its focus to Diablo 4. It fulfills all requirements, including the SSF mode and a Paragon cap.
The 29th season of Diablo 3 goes all-in to celebrate the 12-year journey of the Blizzard RPG. Announced as the last season of Diablo 3, with the team directing its attention to Diablo 4's seasons after their launch, the patch notes for Diablo 3's 29th season fully address almost every community demand for quality improvements and balance changes, creating one of the most exciting and competitive seasons.
New features in the last season
Blizzard's preliminary patch notes for the PTR of Diablo 3's 29th season are here, giving us a glimpse into all the upcoming changes. The SSF (solo self-found) option has long been requested by players and basically allows you to mark yourself as someone who only plays alone without player trading.
The way Paragon points work in Diablo 3 is also changing in the 29th season. Previously, the system offered little real decision-making, instead offering almost infinite scalability - whoever played the longest and reached the highest Paragon level was the strongest player due to the endless stream of points for your character's main stat.
Start date for Diablo Season 29
The start date for the PTR (Public Test Realm) of Season 29 is Tuesday, August 15, 2023, and runs for two weeks until the end on August 29, 2023. This means that we can expect the actual season to start in early September, likely on the 5th or 12th.
Overall, there is a lot happening in the ARPG genre with announcements like Titan Quest 2, Path of Exile 2, the run-up to the full version of Last Epoch, and of course, the ongoing development of Diablo 4. But if you've ever thought about revisiting Diablo, when better than now, with its latest completely new season before old seasons are repeated from Season 30 onwards?
Adam PezRadar also confirmed that the Altar of Rites feature, which will no longer be present in this season, will return as a permanent addition to the core game, as well as all future seasons after this one. For all its ups and downs over the years, I can't think of a better way to say goodbye to Diablo 3.
