Welcome to the world of Die in the Dungeon
Exciting news, everyone! I have some great news for you. There's a brand new free deck-building roguelike game called "Die in the Dungeon: Origins" on Steam, and it's definitely worth checking out. Imagine Dicey Dungeons meets Slay the Spire, but with a twist - instead of cards, we use dice here!
The game serves as a prologue to the upcoming main game "Die in the Dungeon" and can be considered as an extended demo of sorts. But believe me, it's more than robust enough to keep you entertained for hours. With its simple yet complex systems and its soothing fantasy music, it has completely captivated me.
Dice instead of Cards - The Twist of Die in the Dungeon
In this game, you don't build your decks with cards, but with dice. Each dice color represents different moves - red dice for attacks, green dice for healing, blue dice for blocking, and so on. And the great thing is: the numbers on the dice can vary, adding extra excitement.
During your turn, you place selected dice on a grid of squares to determine your moves. But that's not all! Purple dice are boost dice that increase the potency of adjacent dice, and pink "terrain" dice leave effects on the grid after their use. There are also cyan "prism" dice that pass on all buffs to adjacent dice.
Between Encounters
Between battles, you have the opportunity to optimize your deck - you can add new dice or remove unwanted ones and heal your character. There are also special events where you have to place and roll certain colored dice in your chosen options.
From Prologue to Main Game
As mentioned before, Origins is just the prologue to "Die in the Dungeon". In the game, you take on the role of Lisver and experience his thrilling story in a seemingly safe and thoroughly explored dungeon. After defeating the evil, you can test your skills in endless mode.
"Die in the Dungeon: Origins" is now available for free on Steam. But if you're looking for a Steam Key for the full game "Die in the Dungeon," check out Keyfuchs! I'm excited to see what else the developers at ATICO have planned for us.
