DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT - The legendary saga in role-playing format

In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, fans will once again have the opportunity to play through the adventures of Son-Goku and his friends. This time in the form of a turn-based role-playing game.

If you're familiar with the Dragon Ball Z series, you should already know what to expect in terms of plot. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot focuses on the story of the legendary Saiyan Son-Goku. As the descendant of a legendary warrior race, the protagonist lives a peaceful life on Earth. This comes to an abrupt end when three other Saiyans suddenly appear on the scene, intent on conquering the blue planet and destroying humanity.

Son-Goku's battle against the three Saiyans is only the beginning of a series of exciting stories that follow the canon of the Dragon Ball Z series. Long-time fans of the series shouldn't expect any big surprises, as most of the events are taken from the manga or anime source material. However, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot also offers optional side quests that answer some of the fans' unanswered questions. The fact that all of the main and side stories have been personally approved by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama adds to the authenticity.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, designed as a pure single-player experience, is oriented towards classic Japanese role-playing games in the playful area. In the role of Son-Goku and other well-known characters from the legendary saga, the game world is mainly explored by flying. In smaller skirmishes, our heroes collect experience points and continuously improve their skills. This is also bitterly necessary, because with Vegeta, Freezer, Cell or Buu everything is opposed to the bad guys, which has a name and rank in the Dragon Ball Z series.

The corresponding battles are fought round-based and score points above all with their full-screen effects, which are on a par with the TV series. Side activities such as fishing, collecting the namesake Dragon Balls or cooking temporarily improve your own status values. In the field of dubbing there are the well-known pieces of the anime template on the ears, which provides a considerable amount of nostalgic comfort. Unfortunately, no German localization was carried out.

Although Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot offers German subtitles, the well-known German voices of Son-Goku and Co. unfortunately did not make it into the game. Instead, you have to take the English or Japanese speakers of the TV series.
